The hangover cure.... ah the Holy Grail!
I look at it in terms of repairing what the alcohol does. In summary, the headache is caused by your liver turning methanol (in traces in most booze under $50) into formaldehyde. The best way to stop that happening is to put more ethanol into your bloodstream as the liver only works on the methanol when it's got no ethanol to process. Hair of the dog - or better yet a shot of good quality spirits, 2 panadol and a long glass of water cure that. (along with a lie down while your kidneys get to work removing the formaldehyde and any unprocessed methanol). The cloudy numbness in your conciousness is caused by a lack of energy in your cerebral cortex. Eat some high energy food. Beware sugars if you have been drinking beer, as the live yeast in your stomach might ferment them and add to the methanol in your blood. Eat a nice fatty, proteiny food like fried eggs with vegemite on toast and a piece of fruit like a tomato and/or chillies for copious quantities of Vitamins C,D and E. Suck down a Berocca if you're into Mega Doses of B, which is also available in mushrooms (easier to digest than a steak). Coffee for a mental boost and you're almost there. If the headache returns, take another shot of spirits and a glass of water. Repeat as necessary

"hair of the dog" Haven't u guys heard of that before? That's a saying which means to wake up with a hangover and have a couple of drinks, it's been around since my parents were young.

I've heard the old joke: "How do you avoid a hangover? Keep drinking!", but I didn't think there was any science behind it.

Worked for me...
* Water + Berocca + Greasy Food = No.1 Never failed * Drinking Lemon Tea = Next best thing, really relaxing. * Fruit = It was the only thing I could stand after a particularily bad party. Well recommened. One of my friends suggested to have sex the day after, but this is a theory I've yet to try .

I know a guy who after going raving all night, (and taking god knows what) came home, did a few lines of coke and passed out on the couch.
makes no sense to me, but worked for him i suppose

hmm i dont realy get hangovers but i have friends who do so i make my hang over jaffel thing and a milkshake, i real love the taste of it so its a good excuse to make it.
Basicaly you drink 2 - 3 glasses of water Fry an egg, bacon, tomato. Then put this on bread in a sandwhich maker add chease and herbs if you got them. wait about 2 -3 minutes and there great (i drain the fat for myself i eat pritty healthy) Milkshake just per 2 people, 1 banana, 1 glass of milk, 2 table spoons of icecream, 3 table spoons of milo. Some other stuff is fresh juice i love fresh juice apple and believe it or not celery is good plus its easy because well celery is sort made for mulching or juicing if you look at it. |

One thing that helps (me anyway) is drinking some or alot of milk before you go drinking.. i don't mean RIGHT before but even say in the morning if you're gonna go out @ night.
I drink lots of milk naturally anyway... But before I started drinking milk regularly that used to help prevent hangovers. The thing is, even though I've been absolutely shit-faced my hangover's are barely bad and sometimes even non-existant. My worst hang-over's are like this. When I first wake up from sleeping after drinking shit-loads.. i'm quite dizzy when I stand (lol) but after maybe a drink of milk or water I just sleep again and even if it's only 30mins to an hour nap. After I wake up again i'm fine.

hmmm...
1. as much water as you can drink 2. when you're reaching the limit of the water you can drink, take a panadol and a multi-vitamin 3. bacon and eggs (or other greasy food) 4. strong coffee seems to work for me... hangover gone within half an hour
