Default Blue Coloured PCB Cards

My Dear Girlfriend is building a computer (sort of a bonding exercise between us), and want's all the PCB's inside to be Blue.

I've convinced her to get a KT7e, and finding a blue graphics card isn't difficult, but finding Network and Audio Cards is another kettle of fish.

Does anyone know of some manufacturer who is crazy enough to market these things, and where can we get one in Australia? I don't wanna unsolder all the connections off a Soundblaster, just to solder them back onto a custom etched blue PCB.

Hypothermia were doing a similar thing, maybe you could e-mail them and ask or something?

If you can dig up a Aureal SQ2500 they are on Blue PCB .. and don't netgear have a blue NIC.

Of course you could go wild and get an enermax Blue case to go with it.

Thumbs up

Thanks Everyone.

We've a FA311 on order, and we're tring to track down an Aureal Vortex SQ2500. If anyone knows of a supplier who still has these, we'd be interested.

She wants to get her case painted Indigo and Purple, so one of those fine Enermax cases would be waisted on her, unless we find someone who can do anodising.

Fortunatly, my favourite colour is Green, so I won't have much difficulty colour coding my system .

Chao.

can of blue spraypaint: $2.

paint all the innards blue, and no-one will notice the difference.

Configuration for Vanessa's PC:

Case - Omni Mini Tower (I tried to convince her to get a Midi Tower, but she wouldn't listen)
Motherboard - Abit KT7e
Processor - AMD Duron 900
Graphics - Giga-byte (something "reasonably priced" which will have enough performance for her; GeForce2 MX maybe?)
Audio - Hercules GAMESURROUND MUSE XL
Network - Netgear FA311

Floppy Drive - Some piece of junk I found lying around with a Blue PCB!
Removable Disk Drive - IOmega Zip ATAPI Internal
Optical Disk Reader - Pioneer DVD of some sort (what are the ones which don't have a limit on Region Encoding?)

Seeing the prices for the components that she's getting, and the quality, I'm thinking I'll put aside my plans for a KT7a-RAID-based Athlon system, and just make a duplicate system (with a decent case, of course). Then save my bickies for a Dual Athlon system later on.

Due to CBA stuffing her around, her credit card hasn't worked, now that it is, she wants to get a Blue Soundcard.

She heard a rumour that Creative have released a SoundCard that has the Blue PCB, but Creative's Website doesn't have pictures of the actual Cards.

Anyone know what it is? If not, she'll have to go for a Hercules.
I think she should get the Hercules, but she wants to look at the SB first.

Thanks

Get Hercules stuff, they make good gear, and they allways go with the blue theme too.
I've got a Herc. GeForce 2 MX400.. excellent value for what it costs.

Also the best performing (and best looking) GF2MX there is...

Seeing as the cpu is faster than 800mhz, you could also look at getting an Apollo Kryo II for her. It's blue.

AFAIK, all Gigabyte stuff is blue these days, so any of their video cards are good too. The Hercules stuff would perform better tho, and are still blue. I'm fairly sure that their Fortissmo and Muse cards are blue too, so that should solve your sound card problem.

All this blue stuff won't be seen without a window, and I'm sure you're planning one, but i would have to advise against getting blue neons. If you got a red or a purple, it would show off the blue a lot more than a blue neon, which may kinda blend in. Just some food for thought...

As for plans for your system... What do you have right now?
