Why would I replace the crystals unless it was faulty? The new branding wont take effect until March and it will have nothing to do with these SmaraTech cars.

If it is faulty we will replace it. So please send an email to cameron@pcrange.biz and we can replace it. But unless we know what the problem is the whole unit will need to be sent back so we can find out what the problem is exactly. We dont have spare crystals laying around here. If we do we can replace it. Our next stock arrives Mid January at which time I can replace the part for you. Are you sure it is the crystal that is faulty?

Also is there anything close interfering with the same frequency?

i know it is something to do with my radio gear, it may be the crystal but it can be the reciver/transmitter, i will contact you when your next shipment arrives. In this time i will keep my car in close distance.

Thank you for your help, very pleased. Will this be covered under the 30 day warranty even if it takes longer than a month to get it all sorted out?

Sounds like your throttle servo is playing up !JonZap!
This can happen when dust gets in them.
Try changing the throttle servo and the steering one around.
See if that helps.

Also check the wiring in and around the batteries/receiver box on the car.

The dust could of got in anytime, even before you or chuna got it.
It does happen.

when you turn the car on, the throttle servo moves by itself, very random movement. I've had the same problem with mine.

I know this sounds obvious but with ALL R/C gear make sure the Controller ( Transmitter ) is turned on BEFORE you turn on or start the engine.

and check things like correct throttle and control operation before you take off every time. I've seen and once personally experienced one such embarrasing incident some years ago now.

with the people that have had the problem where do the cars servos default to?

I take it people have trimmed the control so that the car drives straight and it doesn't try and drive off before you do anything. If you have the car running then turn the card off it should fall back to the untrimmed settings.

Just trying to work out if the car is losing contact with the control (for whatever reason) and fall back to it's default settings or if it's reacting to something (like a cb radio) causing it to accelerate
