Default Digital Photo Printer

Hey all.

My brother is after a photo printer that can print directly from a digital camera.

He does not want a computer printer as he does not have a computer, so he is after one of the stand a lone printers.

I do not know much about these printers, or, who makes them.

I assume at least a few people here know about these printers, if anyone could provide some information, experiences and good manufacturers it would be greatly appreciated.

*edit: The camera is a Canon A80.

Cheers.
Moose.

My Canon i865 prints straight from the camera (I have an A80 - though I've never tried to print direct.

The i865 might be over kill though and about $350, so check out the lower ones in the canon range.

I'd certianly recommend staying with Canon...great printers, and helps prevent any inter-brand issues if it's possible to get them.

I was looking at one of these

They look quite decent with good reviews, they are about $560AUD.

It only needs to be able to do photo size, no larger.

another vote for the !865. Have printed directly with an S45 and a Dimage Z1. Be sure to use Canon paper in it to get best quality (if printing directly from the camera). The 6x4 print feader is really good to for printing out standered sized photos for an album.

The Canon i450 will print straight from the camera. I haven't tried this option as I don't have a camera to plug into it, although I can vouch for the quality of pictures printed from a scanner onto photo paper.
I was stunned at how good this printer is at this task as well as the day to day printing. I bought it for $150 last year so it would be around that price and well worth it.

I have a i450, I agree on the quality. Although to be honest, most digital camera pics need post-shoot work. Unless you want just happy snaps then I have tried straight from my 10d with great output.
