Default Hercules Fortissimo Using Zalman 6chl headphones

Rightio I have the above mentioned card.

The card supports 5.1 when it uses the SPDIF, the analog outputs only support 4.1

I want to get a pair of the zalman 6 channel headphones to use when i play games/watch movies late at night i don't disturb people but still get surround sound.

Now as the headphones only support analog i need a digital to analog decoder right to get 5.1 to them?

I have been also looking at getting a proper 5.1 setup to replace the current 4.1 setup.

The creative inspire 5.1 5500 speaker set accepts a digital input, and from what i have accertained form the creative site/s the actual decoder has three outputs to the subwoofer, which from what i gather either amplifies the signals and then provides the connection for the satellites.

Or as from how it read off the creative site the decoder actually amplifies the signal:

("5 satellites (for front, center and rear), 1 Creative subwoofer, 1 separate decoder amplifier)

And all the subwoofer does is provide the connections for the satellites to connect to.

Now if the decoder also amplifies it then could i in theory just build a switch box to switch between my headphones and the speakers?

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated

Jedi Jezz

EDIT: Oh yeah if i use the digital, do i still get the EAX funky effects etc?
