im ordering a shuttle AMD small form PC from pluscorp early next week and am planning on doing some mods asap.
my first will prob be to put 2x10cm blue CCTs in it, place a window on the non PSU side, wire up some red LED's to accent parts (eg. northbridge cooler) and to find somewhere to place an extra fan or two. can any shuttle owners recommend different/more mods i should do or see n e thing preventing me from doing those mods, also anybody got some cpu temps using that awsome looking I.C.E cooler? cheers. -jake |

There should be nothing stopping you from modding your shuttle, except when you see it and think, maybe I'll keep it like this for a bit
![]() Temps I get are usually like 45 on the cpu with a 39~40 case temp, and I hav NFI about the ambient temp in my room, probably 10 degrees below the case maybe? Keep in mind I have 2 HDDs in there aswell and an overclocked graphics card. If you can find another place to fit a fan please show me!!! other then cutting a hole in the side I dunno where you could fit one, its pretty tight in these shuttles. happy modding!!!

shuttles are damned fun to mod
![]() so far ive installed a mesh window mod on both my shuttles, stealth modded both dvd/cdrw drives , added 2 x blue 10cm cathodes, swapped over the fan on the ICE cooler for a quieter led fan, removed the ice grill for better ventilation , and installed a nice big louvered grill on the other side....thats about it for the moment. the main things ive found out with modding shuttles is that because everythings such a tight fit you have to be careful where and what you cut and install, its very easy to make mistakes and end up with something that doesnt fit together quite right afterwards.

thanks alot for your help guys, the mod (i hope) will pretty much b to bring down temps and raise sexyness :P (already darn high i must say).
Perspex: i found a perspex shop in the yellow pages that did 1.5mm sheets of perspex and it happened 2 b the 1 that my dad was getting perspex for picture frames from so i asked the guy nicly if i could have a look in his off cuts bit :P and got some nice 20x10ish pieces from there. to make sure everything fits im just going 2 like tape it 2 the inside and see if i can put it on without n e probs. Also: in some of the reviews i was looking at i thought i saw a nice spot above the ice thing 2 put a window (man that thing looks sweet) and im also thinking of replacing the area where the ice fan screws 2 the bak with perspex. n e wayz, nice sounding (i couldnt get the links working) mod there m8. i now have a benchmark. thanks 4 ur input ppl. -jake |

I'd be more inclined to mod it if I weren't so worried about warranty and ruining the aluminum
![]() btw Draebor your pictures don't work

i used toothpaste and a toothbrush believe it or not, but i wouldn't recommend it, coz it leaves scratch marks, and you cant get rid of the outline completely...
however, i have my shuttle sitting 45* away from me, so i cant see the scratch and outline anyway ![]() http://members.optushome.com.au/jq3k...d/Im000871.jpg http://members.optushome.com.au/jq3k...d/Im000868.jpg Last edited by jq3k; 25th January 2004 at 10:16 AM. |

the fan is a coolermaster rifle bearing quad purple led fan bought from http://www.davidandkarma.com.au/, nice quiet fan with decent airflow and dead sexy to boot.
im planning on replacing the other blue led fan with another purple one, replacing the leds on the front with purple and even swapping the cold cathodes for purple ones.... problem is finding them ![]() and yes pappa the case is telling me it wants one my case would prefer a red display with silver faceplate methinks.
