hmmmmmmmmm, assuming I unlock my 1463@1694, how far it would go? Currently it's (locked) running at 11x154 Mhz and not stable. For just 50MHz I don't want to waste my time.

I think for 2 GH, you have to unlock and you need a voltage mod, even with a XP 2000+

He He...

I have a AGNGA Y (brown) XP1700.

Have you seen this stepping chainbolt?...

I will unlock it tomorrow and see how it goes...

As i understand this is a newer stepping as AMD always went through the alphabet is some sort of order. it came on a tray (OEM) but all it's brothers were mixed. it was the only one of this stepping.

me hopes good things.

i must be a geek. i am excited about a little electronic device and it dosen't even have any flashing lights.

syntax

Scorpy has the AGOGA Week 52 ones but only in the 2000+.
He also had AGOGA in the 1700+....or it may have been the 1600+ but he has 2 diff ones with the AGOGA and i know definantly one of them is the 2000+ cos thats why i nearly bought one yesterday....

But i do wish to eat....

EDIT: Forgot my point I was posting this cos if they work in alphabetical order then the AGOGA is even newer than the AGNGA ones. Yerp the AGOGA were the green colour too....

I'm of the opinion that it's all based on luck when buying a new CPU. But I do think that it's always better to go with the latest ones to hit the market as there will always be some slight improvement. Just pick your CPU speed, hope for the best, and crank it up till it can't go no more

basically yes, but there are diffences: remember the 1.33 TBirds? The AXIA production codes were all good for 1.60 or even 1.65GH aircooled and regular voltage. Reason: AMD changed some parts from aluminum to copper. The previous production codes CPU made it only to 1.33@1.50 at the maximum.

Regarding XP: it's obvious that the later production code CPUs(actually they are NOT steppings) are overclocking better. I would at least make sure that a moronic vendor is not dumping a CPU with an ancient production code on you.

In general for AMD it's very simple and there is much less sceret knowledge behind all this than some ppl would like make us think: the later production codes always overclock better than the earlier one.

If that is the case, and you know him pretty well and hang even out with him, I wonder how you look like now. Because the infamous Dr. Hannibal Lecter PhD. is a man-eater, and he prefers ears and noses for supper.

I see, that's good, because you probably still have your nose and other body parts still in proper order.

The gorilla is now at breeding station.

By the way, I recommend to read the book or to see the movie, it's really entertaining if you are interested in the more bizarre part of human nature.
