The swivel joints on my Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones have cracked and I want to know where i can get replacements.
I have called sony parts already and they only replace the whole headband for $209 which is a complete and utter joke for $280 headphones. Any one know |

It's actually a very common fault for the V700 to develop (it starts after only a few months), if they're out of warranty it's probably easiest to just araldite them up or somesuch.
I don't think there are cheaper ways to replace/repair them other than the whole headband. |

omg
how fucked are these headphones! the sound quality is absolutely top notch, but the build quality is the worst i've seen for quite a while. the leather on the left earcup of my mdr-v700's is cracking, and both the swivel joints have all but fallen off. not only that, but the wiring is broken somewhere in the band, so i only get the left channel working. in theory all that needs to be done is a new piece of wiring run through and the swivel lugs replaced, but surely that can't cost $200? fkn ironic that this happens 2.5 years after i buy them. the "manual" which came with them is completely lacking in any mention of a warranty or even contact details for sony
