Default CF card corruption and restoration

After taking ~200 photos the other day, i came home to find my CF card was corrupt and i couldn't access any of the pics

After seeing a lot of commercial proggies that did boot sector/FAT/file restoration, i came across a free solution that worked very well - jpegdump.
It only restores jpegs, not any other type of file, but it managed to salvage all but 5 of my shots...and its free

sometimes when i put the card into my reader it doesnt work but if i remove and reinstall it, it somtimes helps.

Or if that fails i put it back in the camera and turn it on and check the photo's via the camera and if that works just chuck it back into the computer and it should work, if the camera doesnt even read the card then cross your fingers and download that CF rescue or whatever its called

I tried in the camera and card reader multiple times, but neither showed anything. According to http://www.datarescue.com/laboratory/smartflash.htm
the card had a corrupt boot sector, as it was complaining about not being formatted.
