Anyone tried it yet, 1014 was horrid, I don't want to flash it and have heaps of problems again.

1014 was fine for me..

but I'm a sucker for new firmware.. I'll give it a go

Edit: No problems so far.. the only noticeable thing is the bios now recognises my USB stick as a mass storage device instead of another hub

1014 was horrid if you had normal ide devices on the raid connectors that you booted off.

I'll give 1015 a go tonight, newsgroup postings seem to indicate it is fine.

Flashed it a couple of days ago, but it seemed to have upped my temps by around 4 or 5 degrees.
Ambient : 30
cpu : 47
mb : 43
cpu(1014) : 43
mb : 38

The sensors? ;(
I've applied the AS5 too..

Reading some nasty things in the newsgroups, I think I will stay with 1010 for a while yet, at least it works.

Why on earth would you stick with such an old bios, the newer ones have FAR less problems then the old.

Iceman: because thats what was default on my MB, after 2 days of stuffing around trying to get 1014 to work I just went back to what I knew was good. Lesson: Don't update your bios just because you can.

1014 is a piece of shit and should never of been released, the fact that it took ASUS 40 days to rectify the problem of not remembering the devices plugged into the raid connectors if they aren't raid makes me think the finger isn't on the pulse much. From a quick squizz at the newsgroups none of the bios for these boards have been much chop.

Wanga: http://groups.google.com.au/groups?h...mainboard.asus or try reading that group with Agent or something.

Fobzy, I suppose so, I had some extremme settings of needing 8 IDE drives connected, but the simple error that was made in producing the BIOS should of been picked up very quickly and fixed, it wasn't.

Same here... had no probs with 1014. I just flashed it to 1015. Whats the difference between 1014 & 1015? Prescott support? (ALthough IIRC, Prescott support was implemented with the 1014 revision).
Cheers.

edit: Off the ASUS Site:

1. Do not use old version Afudos.exe to flash BIOS. Must use new Afudos.exe which is included in zip file to flash BIOS.
2. Using ASUSLiveUpdate to flash BIOS,you need to upgrade ASUSLiveupdate to v 5.22.02 or later before flash BIOS.
3. Please do not use Ezflash for updating this BIOS unless the loaded BIOS is of version 1014.
4. Support new CPUs. Please refer to our website at: http://www.asus.com.tw/support/cpusu...pusupport.aspx
5. Fix boot devices failed to be disabled when more than one device are in the same group.
6. Revise USB module.
