go for the logitech z-5300 its a bit under 300 and great sound, but if you want the best go for Z-680 with encoder but its a bit more

aren't the 680's and 5300's very VERY similar? Just the 680 comes with the decoder, which you don't need if you have an audigy 2 to do it for you?

thats wat i was trying to say, they are basically the same but the decoder does give u higher quality and the z-680 are regarder as better, and after hearing both i have to agree the 680s are worth the extra, to me anyway

the z-5300 only uses an analog connection, so no, u cant connect it to the xbox (unless the xbox has analog output, which i doubt)

Well the Creative T7700s are 7.1, but then I'm not sure about dolby digital. Just a shameless plug for the over the top uselessness that is 7.1

Definitely get Z-680's over anything. The reviews prove it.

Dont trust audio reviews unless they are from a reputable source...most reviews have no idea what they are talking about.
btw the z-680's are excellent for DVD;s and games...but IMO the sub is too boomy for music

They only have analogue connections. So it would suit an Audigy 2 ZS.

So the only 5.1 speakers with digital optical for DVD players, Xbox etc are the Z-680s?
