Default Antec Sonata Front Audio Not Working!

Hi all, a few weeks ago I bought a new computer.

bought all the parts and got the store to install it all, instead of getting a pre-fab system.

Anyway, the case is an Antec Sonata, which has front audio and usb ports.

The USB ports work fine but I can't get the audio ports to work!

Is there something you need 2 do in XP to turn em on??

I'm guessing that it hasn't been hooked up properly (I can't open it up and look cause it has a warenty sticker)

system is- p4-2.8 ASUS p800 M/B using onboard sound.

if i plug headphones in front, theres no sound, only from the rear.. i've tried with only front pluged in and still nothing

I will take it back but just checking cause it is a bit of a drive to get there

thanks all

I'd take it back and get them to fix it. They're probably either not plugged in, or not set up correctly. On some mainboards (like the NF7-S), there's a set of jumpers that you need to change to disable the back outputs and enable the front ones.

thanks just had a look at the manual and there are jumpers you have to remove.

say it was connected up properly, would that mean i could just plug headphones in and sound would come out???

or is there something in Windows Mixer, or SoundMax that I also need to enable??
