Default monitor cable is stuffed

i got a 15 inch sony monitor which its cable is loose.

I need to get it replace, i called up some monitor repair shops and they are asking for 55 bucks plus just to replace it.

could i just pull out a monitor cable from an old monitor and atttach it to it?

Yes opening up a monitor and 'playing around' is extremely dangerous because there can be a build up of charge within the monitor even if it has been turned off for days.....

don't even bother unless you know what you are doing and know how to discharge it first.

Seriously, no.

Get it professionally repaired or buy a new monitor, every other option is dangerous.
