Default About to Buy New Nokia 3350

Hey,

Im about to (as on, Monday I think) buy this phone.

AFAIK its just been released

http://www.nokia.com.au/nokia_apac/a.../3350_features

Its RRP at $439 but I am able to get my hands on one for $366.

Anybody heard of them, I only found them last night, anybody know someone with one? Ay stories..anything? let me know.

It looks pretty sweet, and has alot of the latest shyte. And has a real cool feature. [Personalise your SMS alerts with a ringing tone or create your own]

I'd love an 8310..but theyre so expensive.

they're a bit too new to know much about them
why not wait a while to see if they've got any problems

unlike 8310 or whatever, those kinda phones arent really worth getting so quickly ...

I'm going to get one, I've been hanging out for this phone ever since I read about it last year. So I'll be a guinea pig for you Just gotta figure out how to swap my contract over now. Do all vendors sell them yet?

Edit: The main reason I want this phone is because of the green and red phone buttons! Do you realise how much I hate the Navi key? I am not big on expensive phones so I only want a low-end one, and to have the red and green buttons is really cool. The games on it look really lame, so they can probably be ignored.

heheh.. you want green and red buttons?

erm.. ok then... that just bout matches most other phones wifout a navi key (WHICH I HATE WITH A PASSION TOO!!!! and everyone should... grr.. )

I'd really like to play around with a 3350. Nokia's **50 series are always super 1337.... 8250, 8850, 7650... now 3350..

you can't go wrong with them, they're very functional phones...

can't wait til the 8350/90 comes out... that'd be reli fun.. (oh - i like the 6510's look the most, bit more classy than usual)

Ok I took the plunge and bought this phone today, and it absolutely rox0rs. It cost $385 from a Nokia shop in Crows Nest. It has the same nice font that the 6210's have, and is the same build quality as the 3310's and 3330's (same chassis).

It has the green and red phone buttons! It has lots of funky annoying phone tones and more games than I thought (it has the 3 listed "new" ones as well as some old ones). You can also download just about anything onto it, from screen savers, phone tones, pictures, games, etc. It has the standard tone composer and also a picture editor, though I doubt I'll ever use the latter.

What surprised me is it came with a lithium ion battery rather than a nickel metal hydride, so the phone is lighter than its predecessors.

It has WAP but I've not used it yet. It has profiles, reminders, and just about everything I'd want from a phone. No it's not an 8250 or 8310, and some people will think it's as ugly as the othe 33xx phones, but I don't care. I bought the phone to use as a phone, not as a fashion accessory. It feels more solid than the 83xx phones, not that I'm going to test it deliberately on the 3350 but I've dropped my 3310 a few times onto a wooden floor and it still works fine (but it now rattles a bit). I know someone that dropped their 8210 onto carpet and it died.

This is the phone for someone who doesn't want to pay >$400 for a phone, but still wants it to be pretty funky. I can't really ask for anything more on this phone, apart from maybe the removal of the gay screen savers and games aimed at 13 year old asian girls.

I give it a 9/10

Wif Nokias, it's more of - "the sexier it is, the more expensive it is.. if the size is smaller, it's more sexy, thus it's more expensive.. not so much about functionality... heh"

the 8310 strikes a very good balance though, but it's still expensive.

but an 3350 is the next best

The 8250's break SO easily. leaky screens etc...buggy

Aha! They aren't screens at all They are just clear buttons, for select and cancel. I was also deceived until I bought the phone.

It should have been obvious before I even opened the box, the green and red buttons aren't the select/cancel buttons on the 6150 etc.

so the green button shows last calls..like all nokias kinda..+. and the arrow keys go up and down.

so whats those clear ones made out of? it cant be hard plastic like the rest?

It's like the plastic the screen cover is made out of, but a bit thicker. It's as hard as the main buttons. They are clear because the keypad can flash at different times to the main screen, and these are the biggest indicators of the keypad glowing (ie they let the most light through)

God there are some annoying ringtones on this phone. I of course chose the most annoying one I could find to be my main ringtone
