is there such thing as after a while the LED wears out and the chip doesnt overclock as good?
Shouldn't be. Like I said earlier, alllllllll the durons I've seen have been effortless. On kt133a/266a, literally 800->1064 = dial-an-o/c as far as I've seen.

Don't think a Duron is the best oc'ing chip, I thought this as well, but all i see is a 1.2 gig ceiling with 1g morgan chips.

But I must say they are the best value for money.

If your chip used to overclock, but now doesn't, is it because you have removed and re-fitted your heatsink a few times, fucking up the supplied thermal goo? I did that on my Duron and couldn't understand why the temps went up so much after I did the pencil trick, even at stock voltage and speed. Just a thought...

if you do the cheap pencil trick, sometimes it wears out. I recommend you do it properly with something more permenant.

durons don't overclock?????????
wtf?????????

my first duron 900 got to 1.16ghz stable using thermonegine+6800rpm fan. FSB of high 120's and Vcore @ i think 1.80v.

could do 1.2ghz @ Vcore of 1.85v but would crash during 3dmark2001.

adding to the list....

my Duron 800 sits at 1.02 Ghz comfortably (10x102). Its too bad my gayass Epox Mobo is not stable even at 104 FSB otherwise it would do 1.04...maybe even slightly higher. Ah well.....

(it is well cooled though and supplied ample voltage )
