Default Can I make my TV-Out do Overscan with Twinview

Is there a way I can do this somehow, like a registry hack or something. I dont want to use TV Tool or a program that will make me change the resolution and refresh rate on my monitor. What I want is to increase the picture size while using Twinview, which TV Tool does not support.

Ok, normally when you use Twinview, there are black borders around the picture on the TV. Using TV Tool you can get rid of them and make the picture the same size as the TV Tube, or make it bigger then the tube so the edges of the picture you see on the monitor are actually off sides of the screen on the TV. The problem there is that TV tool generally fucks up the picture on your CRT monitor and it's a real pain in the ass to run, a lot of hassle.
So what I'm wondering is if there is a way to get the same effect, IE remove the black borders so the picture fills the whole screen, but using Twin view, so you can still get a higher resolution on the CRT monitor, while running 800 x 600 on the TV without the black borders.

This is Also what I am trying to do.

I read a bunch of info and it seems that Nvidia had this "overscan" ability in the Det Drivers ver 6.31 (or so) and then took the option out.

Surely there is a registry hack to re-enable overscan.

I am using WinXP
In the Display Properties>>Advanced>>Overlay Controls>>Fullscreen Device
The setting is Disable, and the drop down box, only contains the diable option.

Is there some registry wizard genius that knows how to enable the enable option?!?!

Thanks,
Mace (waiting for fullscreen) Neville

hi,

what version of dets are u running i presume this is on a GF2mx card or so?

When I had my old GF2MX if i had Dets 23 and under I could go into twinview, put on clone mode and then after doing that go into the advanced options in ur drivers and there are overlay settings u can select
4:3, 16:9, Fullscreen, video overlay and another one.

This still allowed my monitor to be higher than 800x600 but after i went up to newer drivers it would default the monitor back to 800x600.

Also on higher drivers when i would play a film clip/vid etc it would take a very long time to start and the tv would be flickering as if its trying to interlise and go fullscreen then play. I think it was a bit higher driver before the resoultion problem came into to play. But so i just used 23 or so for ages.

I think this is what you mean, if not then let me no

Also this is just using SVIDEO isnt it???

Tvtool used to have all sorts of probs that is why i didnt like using it!

So billme: using the det 23 drivers, were you able to get rid of the black borders? ie. truly fullscreen the image on the TV?
