Question irc!

Someone tell me how to get around the firewall here at work and connect to #overclockers.

Set up a bounce on port 80 or any other port your firewall lets through on another machine, eg Odin

And you should be able to get straight through.

I _could_ set up a bounce for you guys...
but I don't know what work would think about it

Unless we could find another host.

as for bouncing, I suggest finding your local routers and typing
  • ena
  • enter a password (which you probably don't know)
  • no access-lists
  • and enjoy your browsing to all sites :P

Tried that but to make it use a port under 1024 u have to run the program as root, therefore your ident is root@* therefore ozorg wont allow you to connect

Can you SUID it? Or.. whatever that thing is that lets (selected) normal people run things as root without being root.

Forward any >1024 port to localhost:80 or whatever port the BNC is on, and it should work fine.

sabretooth> yeah i tried running it on another port then forwarding port 80 or 21 to that port but didn't work (time like that i wish a bit more about linux, or more like why didn't it work) I will have another shot of it another day.
