Default upgrading video card in laptop?

currently ive got a toshiba satellite 2410
its a 2ghz with a 16mb geforce 4420 something video card
is it possible to upgrade the video card to something better?

Not sure about this Toshiba one, but some laptops' video module are upgradable. Not all laptops have video embedded in the motherboard these days. I know some Dell models, include my Inspiron 8500, can be upgraded. However, it's next to impossible to get the upgrade parts, and even if you can, the price tag is too much to bear. Also that no-one will buy your old video card, which will become a complete waste.

Might just save up for a new laptop.

ok thanks guys
i think i was probably mislead by my friend, who says he buys older laptops and upgrades parts in them.
maybe hes just upgrading the hard drive or cpu?

yeah in older laptops and newer ones, memory/cpu/hard drive can be easily upgraded. Video card not so much though.

you can do it with alienware laptops, but thats about it.
