Default help!problem with gfx 5600

Hi all im having a problem with my gfx5600 and XPs2...i cant seem to play any games..the card is not overclocked etc and is fine in every other way(was perfect in win98se)..what happens when i play a game(like spiderman2,asterix and obelix etc)..after a few minutes the computer resets! ...also when i play a game the card also resets to 60hz refresh rate when i change resoulutions in game options,(even though its 85hz in card properties ) and remains at 60hz when i exit the game..any ideas whats going on? it even does this with 3dmark 2001..the card has only behaved this way since i installed xp service pack 2,also i have coolbits in the registry..any help much appreciated,as this is driving me nuts..thanks guys

What Nvidia drivers do you have installed?
Download the lastest from nvidia.com

It is quite possible that it isnt the graphics card that is causing the resets. Do you have a generic PSU? and what are your CPU temps?

as for the refresh rates it is to do with the screen not being able to refresh at 85hz while running at high resolution so it drops back to 60.
