The Taste of Tequila

Does anyone actaully like the tast of tequila?
I absolutely hate the stuff but always sucked in to taking some shots.
My gf says she loves the taste!
Just the smell of it makes me want to throw up!

I thought that most people actually hate the taste !

when your drunk everything tastes nice.
just drink a few of your fav drinks to get you started and then move onto the stuff that you dont like so much, by then it wont matter what it tastes like

It depends on what Tequila you buy.

Most people buy Sierra and base their assumptions that Tequila tastes disgusting on that.

I find that good tequila has a resemblance to whiskey; it has a nice smooth and smoky flavor.

I usually drink it over ice.

Yeah - avoid the cheap Tequila's. I like it a fair bit actually - does provide me with one hell of a hangover though.

As has been said, stay clear of the cheapo bottles of Tequlia/Mezcal on the shelf. They shall do only harm to you

I personally love the stuff. I find it has an apple/plum taste to it.

I find that cheap tequila thats clear tastes pretty shit, I don't mind Jose Cuervo though it's a whisky colour tastes a bit like caramel.

Don't mind it with the lick, sip, suck method but apart from that never have tried it by itself. I think the smell is kind of like citrus? Smell's nice

Can anyone recommend a good brand of Tequila?

The proper way to drink Tequila:
1) Lick the salt, but leave it in your mouth, swish it around, let all your mouth numb up and pucker up. Get the flavour of the salt everywhere, over your tongue, under it, cheeks, everywhere.
2) Take your shot of tequila, but don't swallow. let it sit in your mouth, swish it around where the salts been, enjoy the change and blending of flavours as your mouth gets used to it.
3) Swallow, bite down on the lemon,a nd once again wash it around your mouth, letting the lemon soak in everywhere and once again change the flavour of the tequila.

It gives you a great range of flavours and tastes and really experience the tequila.

I had a tiny bit once- bluegh. I guess I didn't do it properly. The rest of my friends love it, I suppose I'll give it another go on schoolies.

I like to enjoy my cheap tequila with the salt and lemon/lime routine, but when I have money, it's all about going for the more expensive blends and drinking it in a glass over ice.

I tend to avoid the stuff now since my uni days when I had 15 shots in 30 minutes, and lost 2 hours worth of memories after that...

Ja, agreed. But it's the onyl way to make the cheapshite taste decent.. unless you just shoot it and dont taste anyway, but whats the point in that.

If i had the money: Johnny Blue and some good tequila, all the top liquors, best available, and just sip and enjoy that, and keep a large stick to beat my friend away
