Default 3dmark03 score for MSI 6800GT

I put together a new system the other day, and got a 3dmark03 score of 10678.

The system is completely stock at the moment and consists of:
- AMD64 3200+
- MSI 6800GT
- Gigabyte K8NS-Pro
- 1gb Kingmax ram (Couldn't afford any better... )

Is this a decent score for a completely stock system?

I'm running 2 sticks of 512mb DDR400. Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't the vanilla version only have 12 active pipelines?

yup its not in your league
i was going to suggest running the ram at 200 (default for 2 sticks is 166)but i wouldnt be sure the normal kingmax would do it happilly...that would boost the scores up(unless you are running at 200 in which case i,ll go sit down and shut the hell up )

Default Problems with MSI 6800GT

Sometimes when I am playing a game, i toggle back to my windows desktop. Several times now, when I have toggled back to the game, I get a blue screen (bios stating that operation of my system has been stopped due to potential damages that can occur). I have to manually restart the computer to regain normal functionality.

Other problems:
- mouse pointer in games tends to flicker abnormally.
- sometimes when playing games, images freeze up for a split second. Iyou can hardly notice it, but i don't expect a $700 video card to do this when playing games like fifa 2005 and tiger woods 2005.

I don't know if this has been caused by installing the latest drivers. It seems to have occured after I have done this, but then again, the computer is new so I hadn't played much games prior to this.

Does anyone have any suggestions to what may be wrong?

I currently have the 66.81 drivers installed. Will installing the official 61.76 drivers help?

Apparently there are problems with the MSI geforce 6800 bios.

Take a look at this article. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=17887

According to the forum linked on that site, someone successfully flashed their bios using the nvidia reference bios and all their problems disappeared.
