UCS,
Where did you get the screen material for your custom screen? I went around looking for a 92-100" like a screentechnics & most people want over $800 for one....thinking of doing the DIY routine. |

Hey guys
My HT was just installed today. Until sunday it was being used as a temporary guest room so there's a bed and stuff etc there but I'll show pics of equipment (no pics of rear of room and seating area atm because of this). Once I've got the room set up completely I'll update pics. Also, please excuse all the random remotes (the universal one isn't set up yet) and documentation in equipment area. I also don't have a proper cabinet at the front for centre speaker and my 100+ collection of DVDs. Also note that in some pics the angles are a little screwed (eg one of pj connected to ceiling looks like blinds at back are not parallel to ceiling - they really are) *Note* the subwoofer is behind the square hole to the right of the front left *Note* Specs: Panasonic AE500 Projector Screentechnics 96" Matt white Screen Front mains are B&W 602.5 S3 Floorstanders Subwoofer is B&W ASW600 Centre is B&W LCR60 Rears are in-ceiling B&W CCM80 Receiver is Yamaha RX-V650 DVD recorder is Panasonic E85H DVD player is Pioneer (can't be bothered checking model but it's a pretty current one) And an Xbox ![]() Onto the pics: Click to view full-sized image! Please excuse quality of image.

Sadly, it doesn’t perform too well playing movies. Movie surround is only Dolby Pro Logic, its’ THD is shabby and channel separation is not defined. And the telly is too old and small. Bloody mortgage, gotta upgrade… Are there any good quality stand-alone decoder units I can buy rather than buying a new a/v amp?

Ok, my turn. Excuse my dodgy camera skills.
The projected image sits plumply between the two Speakers, and right inbetween the bottom of the light, and the top of the centre speaker. I'm just using the (almost) white wall, which seems to work quite well. I've got the home made sub in right corner there. I really should paint it black to make it blend in a bit more. Resting ontop is the TV for general television viewing and what not. Just to the left of the Amplifer is the HTPC, complete with a Digital TV Tuner Card. Here's a few shots of it in action. Colours and whatnot look better in real life. Again, excuse my dodgy camera work.
