gonna pickup a lappy and need advice on a small testing app to check specs and hardware

depends on the specs your after

if youre only after small info such as cpu speed, cache, memory, etc. cpu info or cpu speed work fine

but if youre after more technical detail and benchmarking..sisoft sandra will work for you but it is rather large to install
