Default PLz Help Me

i have a sony vaio lappy here which has a minor prob... well actually it is a major... the screen has faded to a point that i can barely see it... i have connected a standard vga to it and works a treat on it.. unplug the vga and the lappy screen in almost black.. put it in dual screen(clone) still black screen... does anyone know what could be causing this???

could it b a simple contrast or brightness software prob?

Sounds like the back light of the TFT (A white CCFL) has died, the only way to easilly repair this is to get another screen from Sony.

tried that to avail..

and i was thinking it might be the backlight on the screen.... time to ring sony i think..
