Default Problems with my Hitachi monitor

Ok, so i have had the monitor for about 6months or so i guess (its a Hitachi cm771) and it has been a fantastic monitor, but now im having trouble with it. It was moved in the car from my house to my friends house, used there for 2 afternoons and everything worked fine. Then it was transfered back (again by car) back to my place, and now for the life i me i cant get the thing to work.

I hope like hell its not broken, as its a nice monitor and was quite expensive. When i plug it in, the power light on the front comes on like normal, but there is not picture. And yes i have checked the vga connection, and it is plugged in properly. At first i though it might be my video card, so i plugged my laptop into the monitor, and still got no picture.

Anyone else got any idea on what the problem might be? Or anything else i can check?

Try changing VGA cables. Try switching the monitor completly off and then back on.

ive tried switching the monitor on and off, with no effect.

Also the vga cable is inbuilt, like you cant pull it out of the monitor if you know what i mean.

I know it might be an obvious one, but have you tried fiddling with brightness / contrast etc?
Does the on-screen display show up properly if it has one?

Yeah I had an average 15 inch Optima monitor, almost brand new. Used it for ages with no problems, then moved it into a different room and it never worked again, just made a constant relay-clicking noise with no picture... Doesn't sound anything like your problem, but I know how you feel.......
