i need help getting a phat system!

Everyone i got about $300 to spend and im wanting to know whats good for the money!

im specifically after a new cpu (p3/p4/amd) with mobo.

but i would love to hear whats a good deal on other stuff.

You won't find much for $300... a lot of newer motherboards cost $300+ alone.

for $300, get the ECS K75SA (i think that's the one, with a SiS chipset and both SDR and DDR slots), and the fastest Duron you can afford with the leftover money.

yeh the K75SA seems to be a really decent budget board, but don't expect it to be anything like the performance of current chipsets (KT266A).

Well You could try picking up some stuff for second hand in the for sale forum .

Alternatively you could get an Epox 8kha+ for $200 , and find a proccessor for $100

i was sorta referring to 2nd hand stuff...i do relise that i would have to b dreamin if i was gonna get a new cpu/mobo for $300

on the comtrader people are selling abit kt7a-raid, really nice o/c board for cheap as peanuts, like 130, then get a nice duron 1.1 or 1.2, bout ram your gonna have some trouble since ram went back through the roof, for kingmax and all that!!

I donno, I just browse the forums, expecting to stay here for 20mins, then I get drawn in and input into 70% of the new threads. OCAU forums are a bad habit
