Default GF4 users - how are your cards going ?

The title says it all.

How are the GF4s going, how well do they overclock, are they getting too hot and crashing ? What 3dmark scores or frames per second in games are you getting ?

my Leadtek Winfast A170 DDR T ( GeForce4 MX 440 ) has been running crash free for close to a week at 300/500.its been running the 27.42's on my XP box

my top 3dmark score so far is 4553 ( not bad for a $200 card!)

i have got a better score, but then my comp is faster

vid cards have the same system until nvidia fuck up their naming scheam and call it a gf4mx when its really still a gf2mx with higher mem and core speed

its not just a GF2 MX its got DDR ram for a start so its closer to a GF2 pro/Ti/Ultra they have also added allot to the core (but still missing things that are in the GF3 and GF4 TI.)

OH FFS. it's a totally new core, NV17, as opposed to the GF2MX which was NV11

the GF4 MX460 has 4 rendering pipelines as opposed to the GF2MX's 2, and has 128-bit DDR as opposed to 64-bit on the GF2

DDR/SDR makes no difference with the GF2 MX core. They halve the pipeline when using DDR from 128bit to 64bit to keep performance down. With SDR, they keep the pipeline at 128bit, but the ram as SDR. Only a GTS/Pro/Ultra has the 128bit pipeline and DDR memory.

Actually the GF4MX is still stuck with 2 rendering pipelines.

As Foder already pointed out, it is a lot more than an overclocked GF2MX. Most of its features can't be found on GF2s.

Here's a nice article on the subject.

straight from the nVidia chip specs sticky, don't know how accurate it is tho:

(NV17)(0.13µm) Geforce 4 MX 420, 440, 460
Core Speed:250Mhz 2 pipelines, 275, 300Mhz 4 pipelines
Memory Speed:64MB SDR 166MHz, 400mhz DDR, 550 MHz DDR

and nope, no links. do some digging!
