was thinking of updating my Dell Inspiron 600m with a 1.4Ghz Banias to a 2.0Ghz Dothan. Anyone know how to go about this, or had any experience with this?

You can upgrade the CPUs in laptops? I thought they were soldered in. Or have things changed? Or am I simply ignorant?

if you use a bios revision before A10, it'll still work but just say unknown cpu or something along the lines. btw how much is a 2.0Ghz Dothan chip? i'm a fellow 600m user too.
to change em, look for a notch on the top right hand corner of the keyboard, get a flat head screwdriver, wrap the head with a cloth and pop the top plastic off, unscrew the keyboard, remove it and you should see the heatsink assembly... there onwards i think you can manage.. but i think you should get a service manual from dell.
