Default Funny ebay story

Since my lovely Portege 3500 was stolen from my apartment in Brooklyn, I was looking on ebay for a good price for a replacement one, so when my insurance gives me money to buy a new one, i wont have to wait around so long ...

Anyways, i see this listing
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....tem=6730384272

Which is really weird, because I know that all toshiba laptops come with a standard 3 year warrantee, and have only been in production for about 2, so this laptop must been under warrantee.

So I click on email question to seller, and send him
dude, ring toshiba 1800 457 7777 and them to do a warrantee service ... for free, it has a 3 year warrantee and since they only started making them 1.5 years ago its safe to say its under warrantee, put the hard drive back it, and dont tell them you opened it up Mordy

Anyways, I checked tonight and the listing is closed and he sends me back the following
Hey, thanks for the tip.

Its funny that the guy woulda sold it to me for 50 bucks, hey now that I think of it, that wouldve been a good idea... as the old saying goes, "an idiot and his money are soon parted", its probably just a matter of time

It could have been a stolen laptop, maybe dropped when it was boosted?
