Default Ipaq 1710, how to access the internet with it?

Hey all, I'm buying my girlfriend a 1710 for xmas, and was wondering if any of you guys knew how to access the internet with it?
Do you need any special cables, or is it wireless, what do I need for it?

I'm a n00b, never used one before, but am pretty handy with computers, what's involved in getting it online?

The 1710 has no wireless lan or bluetooth.

The only way you'll be able to browse the net is via the cradle or IR to a mobile phone. You can add a SDIO card into it for wireless lan latter on for web browsing.

Web browsing is pretty much useless on a PDA

because you have to hook it up to your laptop/computer in order to surf the internet.

Like they said you need either bluetooth or a Wireless LAN card to use the internet on it. The 1710 is basically something that is a PDA, if you want something a little better i'd go for something like a 2210 or even a 4150 (my old PDA).
