Heheh hey guys, I've actually had this for a couple weeks now... but yeah, everytime I look at it it just seems like it was a great buy. Well, i bought it from here :
http://www.pccasegear.com.au/prod1714.htm there are plenty of pictures in there to outline all the features and stuff... but here are my own to show off, ![]() ![]() As you can see it uses an old-school digit LCD display thing - these probably grew unpopular by late 90's... now i think they're cool again, lol, esp with the square LCD lights too... eheh... newayz, fan controller controls the 2 120mm fans inthe case, there are 3 temp sensors, 5 fan speed levels (or AUTO). ![]() that's an infrared port, which i don't know how/why i would ever use, and also USB ports... no firewire or audio though. as you can see the door can remain in that position so that the door doesn't like stick out and flap around and stuff, so that's pretty neat. i wanted a door to cover my beige drives as u ca see. It comes with a toolbox including that screwdriver u can see to the left of the picture. the toolbox contains various screws and cable ties, and can be mounted inside the case with a thumbscrew... but i can't be bothered having the toolbox in there. ![]() inside there is (24/7 settings): k8ns-u939 3500+ @ 10 x 240 stock volt (AC silencer 64 ultraTC wif TT 92mm UFO), 2.5-3-3-10 1T twinx3200xl 2x512mb, 4x HTT 68gt @ eVGA 6800ultra (425/1100) (NV5 silencer, vantec spectrum uv fan card under) WD JB 120gb dvd, cdrw, floppy, etc, etc. misc rounded/uv/lighted cables superflower 400w PSU (great PSU, cept, for high +12v sucking computers, need to dialup the +12v pot inside. NOTE: i have realiesd i didn't have to open the psu and void my warranty to access this pot, lol... u can stick a screwdriver through gap in fan and fan grille and easily reach it, ahha) edit: now i need a case window made so u can actually see inside, lol... and a keyboard to match everything else (but gonna miss this old beige/gray generic BTC kb of mine!)

Yeah, i saw that case in one of your pictures over in the 6800GT thread
![]() It looks like a nice case, i like the uncluttered front. The only real thing that niggles me is the protruding, oval shaped 'mountain' on the front bezel. But even then, it still looks nice. Certainly a lot better than 99% of generics out there. My favourite thing though, is the way the door 'folds' away from the front. That's a pretty clever design. Now here comes my torrent of questions How is the build quality? Is the case made of steel? Noisy or quiet? Airflow? Any special features apart from the cool door? Sorry for all these questions! ![]() Cheers. |

quality is very good, waaaaaay beyond any generics... and after building friend's system using coolermaster centurion 5, i'd have to say this isa bout on the same level - if not slightly better. It is steel, and is quite heavy - but the metal isn't as flimsy as on the centurion, and so it doesn't bend and goes back on the case solidly and consistently. all the metal inside is extremely rigid - i guess this is why it's so heavy, also there are NO sharp edges. but i hardly move the computer, and i'm not that weak ( ) so that's fine. at MAX fan speed, the case fans are quite audible, but at 1 level just under that it is alot quieter, and it's pretty much dead silent 1 setting under that and so yeah, no point using the lowest 2 fan speeds. Airflow is great - but i think i need an intake fan on the side to further improve the temps (about a 4 degree difference in idle temps, haven't yet compared full load difference yet).feature-wise, i thought the features already on it are quite good for a $110 case! but yeah, i had already mentioned everything.

Case looks good.
Hardware manufacturers' obsession with blue LEDs is not, however. There's one in my Z-640s, one or two in my stock Asus video card cooler, and two of them in the front of my Sonata. They're all annoying, and all useless.

Wow those are some nice looking, cheap and functional cases. I like the way the front panel slides around too, better than my swivelling SuperLanboy, very nice.

thanks guys - i'm glad i've introduced u to this case and the range... you won't regret it.
edit: yeah i was prety much about to buy the Air, but yeah, something about the door changed my mind... also, do notice that if you have some other 5.25 bay device, for it to be flat and flush with those stealth covers it needs to jut out abit... i wasn't too sure about that, but yeah, u probably would'nt need to add any more devices there.
