Default what camera? snow trip

hello camera experts
i am going to mammoth mountain next month and want to record most of my trip. most of it will be on the ski resort so im wondering what kind of digital video camera would do the job. ive got a normal digital still camera that i used this year at perisher and thredbo but it just didnt really cut it in terms of convienience or quality.
also, if the camera has optional waterproof cases, that would be a bonus as i could just carry it around in my hand all day while im boarding
thanks in advance
jeff

My Sony minidv cam has a snow mode for filming in snow, but im sure most cams would have that. How much do you want to spend? Need more info. Decent quality minidv cams can be had for 750 bucks nowadays. Or you could get a DVD cam for 1300.
