Default Axim X50mid

Hey everyone.

I'm thinking of getting a Dell Axim X50-mid.

Does anyone know where is best to purchase from? Deal with Dell direct? Or does Dell use resellers?
Are there any good deals i should know about?

Does anyone want to make me reconsider buying an axim? I've got about $500 to spend.

Cheers,

I bought an X50Mid for my wife last week. You just missed the 20% off plus free delivery deal, which expired on the 14th. The X50Mid with an extra battery came to under $500. I'd be waiting until a deal as good as that (or better) crops back up.

They seem to have a different promotion on at the moment. Do they like rotate thru different promotions every week?

they do rotate through different promos but how long they last is up to dell. just make a link to the dell site and check every now and then on the current deals. some deals can be around for 3 days, some for 14 days, wait until the deal is right for you

I ordered my x50v with the 20% off promo too should arrive tomorrow or monday!

I ordered a couple off an eBay shop last week. Came to about $42 a piece including the postage. Fair dinkum. Was from the States though, couldn't find any in AUS .

Also, can people please describe a timeline for their ordering/delivery process of their Axim? I ordered an x50v last Friday night - when do you think I should get it?

1 14-JAN-2005 23:33 Ex-Factory Order Leaves Factory
2 17-JAN-2005 12:00 Destination Port Arrival at Destination Country

I have a strict deadline - Wednesday 19/01.

Looks like our lot of Axims could be delayed or something - by snooping on other people's orders (by changing the order number in the address bar) we can see that people who had their orders processed and despatched at approximately the same time have already got their products or it's with the "Local Courier". Well, there stuff could be desktops/laptops/servers/projectors/whatever not travelling as far... Who knows, I just want it now! My estimated date is Saturday on one page, but Sunday on the other, so let's hope for a Friday!

Also, if you guys want a screen protector for x50v, get boxwave - as discussed in the aximsite forums. It fitted perfectly. I ordered 3 from the states and it arrived on the same day as my 50v. Cost me around 45 (inc postage) AUS$. Perfect timing.

I just search for "rhinoskin" on eBay. It's the guy called "cnetcomputers." He has a lot of trades and positive feedback, and this is pretty much all he sells (PDA accessories). Here's one of his auctions:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....sPageName=WD2V

Here's the official Dell USA shop link (notice the price difference):

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...&page=external

Mine should be here next week - I'll take some photos and stuff.

Have you receive your Rhino case yet from cnetcomputers?
