I have the X-plosion card and I can tell you Oblivion is fantastic with this HDA card.
When characters are talking, you can pan around and hear them behind, to the side or front of you. The effects are awsome to, rain sounds fantastic.

Hearing arrows zoom past your head, GREAT!

I've been playing Oblivion all week using the HDA Mystique with no problems (using the latest 1/6/2006 drivers though) so definately try them out to see if it fixes the problem. Also make sure DSP mode (Xear3d/7.1 virtual speaker shifter ect.) are disabled in the soudncard control panel as they break 5.1 on some games.

Yeah that worked a treat. Just needed some rebalancing of the channel volumes too after the new drivers, the rear channels were a bit on the quiet side.

Thanks.

Has anyone had problems with this card making loud buzzing noises at random intervals in games?

I'm trying to play Oblivion, but it keeps doing this. Seems to happen mainly when using a door to exit a building and go back outside.

I'm using the analogue outputs if that makes a difference.

No problems for me in Oblivion - using Digital Out.

I have been using this card since its release and had only one issue wich has been fixed with a registry hack and thats the 5.1 reverting back to 2.1 on reboot.

You could try a reinstallation if all else fails you might need a new card.

Well, I emailed Auzentech about it and they sent me a new beta driver to test. Didn't make any difference though, it's still buzzing

Guess I'll have to try a Windows reinstall sometime.

It's v5.12.1.47 which hasn't been released yet. Apparantly it's meant to fix all the crashing and blue screen problems.

I finally fixed the buzzing sound probem. I had to reduce the sound card hardware acceleration to 'basic acceleration'. Has anyone else had to do this on theirs? What could cause it, some sort of hardware compability issue?

The beta drivers can be downloaded from here if you want them:

http://www.hidiaudio.com/data/5_12_1...32BIT_BETA.zip

Edit: Been using them for a few days and they seem good. No crashes so far.
