I can report one thing this card works perfectly with windows vista Beta 2

No issues or problems experienced yet still need to do a bit off testing.

Lucky I held on to it.

Actually it's been fine all the way through the CTP releases as well. Perhaps they can downgrade the Vista driver to make a nice one for XP?!

The 5.1 revert bug is gone and all the other issues were fixed in xp with the last driver.

With vista you don't have to run a script for the reverting speakers anymore and the 5.1 sound quality its truely far better it windows vista than xp.

It could be my imagination but I have dual boot xp and vista and comparing them both, it does sound better on vista.

brocke8: How did you get it working in Vista? My X-Plosion is detected as Uknown Device and the XP drivers will not load for it.

*edit* This is for Vista x64

The Mystique drivers are built into windows vista so no need to download drivers.

The xplosion is a different chip if i'm not mistaken.

I can not stress enough how well the mystique card works under vista.

There is always some advantages to owning slightly older hardware, support is much better.

The XPlosion and the XMystique use virtually identical drivers, the XPlosion just has an extra DTS library file it can make calls to. Looks like MS didn't include the XPlosion in their bundled drivers .inf though.

does that mean x-mystique could used hacked drivers to get DTS?

or is it completely missing the required hardware chip to do this?

This would not be possibe. It's a different chip and it does not support DTS encoding in hardware.

Whats the "best" setting for music with this card?

I also have the Logitech Z5500s and putting it on DD Live seems to sound a bit flatter (definately quieter tho) than if i were to put it on one of the 'Digital Audio 44.1 - 96' settings. In my Media Players I dont have the equaliser on because i can never make it sound good and the presets on the control panel of the audio driver dont seem to sound that good either.

To be honest I just use analog outputs to my Z5500's. The digital output doesn't sound as good for whatever reason (I don't want to use 2ch mode, and DDL has a slight delay caused by the reencoding which I can notice when I'm feeding my electric guitar through to the speakers).

I noticed people said that the card works in windows vista beta 2, but i was left wondering if this is only the 32 bit version?

I'm looking to move to vista, but can't decide if I should go 64 bit or not

Fkn a, all my voice overs are like chipmunk speed (double at least, very high pitched and fast).

I would go vista 64 at the moment as drivers are very scarce and a lot of programs just don't run even in 32 vista.

And yes in 32bit vista the card works fine.
