it seems ok.
although you may wish to remove this one.

EDIT: after having a second look at your log, you may want to remove those two windows update manager entries.

i've also said this in your other thread.

Alright I know that all the 015 entries have to go but they keep reappearing so there must be something else running that is preventing them from being deleted. Can't figure that one out, anyone have a suggestion?

i can't see anything unusual there.
you're right about the O15 entries, but i can't see what would have put them there.

you may as well get rid of this one too.

Been experiencing some slowdowns lately while right-clicking and deleting (ie. click/hit delete...wait...action is performed).
That Symantec stuff I'm not a fan of, but nothing I can do in the program will get rid of them (turning off auto-pretect, stuff like that). I'm using AVG, as the log shows. Uninstall NAV? (I never have it running, God knows why I keep it installed...)

i don't see anything obvious.

although you should get rid of this... O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [seticlient] C:\Program Files\SETI@home\SETI@home.exe
and replace it with folding@home....

if you're not using NAV, you should uninstall it.
that would certainly free up some resources.

Haha, I would, but whenever I run folding my HDD starts making odd noises that I don't particularly like. It may be a cooling issue, it may not - I'll see when I get another fan to cool it with.

Until then, though, it's little green (or grey) men all the way for me.

used to have norton on this system but using another virus scanner i don't know if this log says remnants are still there. also i don't know what partypoker is but it was uninstalled but this log thinks otherwise.
should i tick the box to remove that? anything else?

yeah i would try removing the two partypoker entries.

does spybot say where the altnet entry is?
it may be an embedded file in a temp internet file or something.

i would open regedit and manually delete that key.

the only other strange one i see is...
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present

though it may be perfectly harmless.

and yes i'm administrator.

so em... where to next ?!

eeeeek!

ps. kazaa was once installed on this machine by another
i been reading that Altnet might have something to do with the spyware in that naughty app!

the permissions on that key have probably been altered to prevent removal by any user account.

if you're logged in as admin you can change the permissions, or if it won't let you do that, you can take ownership of the key and then change the permissions.

if altnet is part of kazaa, download and run kazaabegone.
