Just read the review at Gamespot.. http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/m...d3/review.html
I'm still hard from it. Under a fortnight to go. Any die hard MGS fans around?

Hand up here, been playing the series since the good old days on the Nintendo! With the Solid series I usually paly through the games at least three times trying different methods and unlocking the bonuses and what not.
Not sure what promos are out there but I think EB preorders get a limited edition box or something special. I'll check it out tomorrow. Oh, for those unsure the release date is March 17th.

Limited Edition Boxset.. Curious.. Get back to us ASAP with that one. For MGS i'll happily fork out the extra, for some extra.

Yeeaaap!
![]() I got both MGS 1 and 2 on PC. MGS 2 was poorly done for the PC, only GF4 Ti series and Radeon 9600XT runs on it without graphical errors. (And its requirements? PIII 800Mhz my butt! You need at least a P4 or Athlon XP at about 1.8Ghz or more to run it smooth!)...The keyboard assignment was terrible, and you feel you need a third hand! ie : The PC port was a big joke. I'm hoping MGS3 gets ported to the PC, but this time done properly like MGS 1 (which was done by Microsoft). I'm thinking about gettin a PS2 (revised one) just to play MGS 2 and 3. I don't know if I really want to though, as I suspect MGS3 is coming to PC eventually...

MGS was supurb. Theres no two ways about it. It has a perfect blend of action and storyline. All of the boss fights are memorable: Raven, Lone Wolf, Metal Gear Rex, Pyscho Mantis, Octelot etc etc.
The twist at the end is great too, Spoiler below, highlight to read: "Mr. President" ![]() If I had a GameCube, I'd get Twin Snakes (remake of MGS1) in a flash. MGS2 was a bit of a mixed bag. Alot of people weren't happy that you played as Raiden instead of Snake. The story wasn't as complete MGS. The way most of it played out in codec convos. made it boring too. I'm looking forward to MGS3, the whole nature element should be alot of fun. Lets hope Kojima has listened to what the fans have complained about. I have a copy pre-ordered, due March 17.

Alrighty people, checked out the details at work and it basically if you do a preorder of MGS3 you'll get the game in a metal tin case similar to that of Halo 2 when it got released.

So no extras? Oh well.. Anyway, how will a metal case fit with all my other games?

OMG
On a lucky Ebay check I saw that some guy was selling Snake Eater that he got from the UK and had finished playing. He was in my state too.. BA BOW. I now have a copy in my grubby hands. I'm leaving work early and having a nice little MGS session. I'll let you know how it goes.
