Default Shuttle SN25P Discussion

I've just noticed this bad boy late last week and have since ordered one

SN25P website

From the beginning of TechReports review;

Quote:
WITH EXPANSIVE INTERNALS that can accommodate up to three hard drives, a trio of temperature-controlled cooling zones, tool-free drive rails, and a robust 350W power supply, the P series is undoubtedly the pinnacle of Shuttle's XPC chassis line.
Reviews;

TechReport
ExtremeTech

ETA = end of the month, and for $649 it's sounding quite mouth-watering already Should go well with the X850XT PE I've ordered

Nice, but I'd rather a Shuttle SB83g5c, although they don't appear to be available for order yet...

Meh.. it's Intel based, and MCE based. I'd rather the A64 + PCI-e based Shuttle I also want the 350W PSU, 4 x SATA, etc.

Hmmm... You have a point, although my reason was for the front panel display, and the included software

I would be purchasing one of these beauties in a flash except that it doesnt have a PCI slot. If only it had 1 spare PCI slot for my TV tuner!!

I've got mine ordered.. eyeballing an ATI Silencer 5 now. Anyone know if this would fit (on an X850XTPE). It looks like it does, I'm sure I've seen some internal pictures of it with someone using one of them.

I'm hoping it does

I have been reading about these at http://forums.sudhian.com for the last few weeks. Definately looks like a winner, the only thing which has stopped me from ordering is the price, plus the fact that I only recently purchased a 6600GT AP.

Make sure you right a little mini-review once yours is up and running. What CPU will you be running? FX-55?

Heres a pic of a 6800GT & Artic Silencer:

I'm holding off on my purchase

Secretnet seems to be the cheapest. But Andypoo mentioned Pluscorp may get first dips on shipment before secretnet does depended if they have a different supplier (reason the cost is greater)

I've had one for a little over two weeks thanks to a friend over in the UK, who got one for review.

Havent had it running fulltime yet, as still waiting on some more $$ to finish it off, but with parts from my SB81p, it seems good.

Overclocking seems very limited. A 3200A64 that has seen 2.7Ghz, only gets to 2.45Ghz now. Thats vcore maxed and also using multi rather than HTT.

As with nearly all shuttles, either a BIOS will fix the problem, or it will be a case of V2 fixing it, leaving us early adopters up shit creak, like usuall for Shuttle.

How can a company pioneer a new field, build excellent cases, buut never really support them.... Their release date for their XPCtools is just been a joke. Warranty and build issues i've had with other shuttles were never answered, and they never reply to emails, or ever call back.

Indeed I will be, I hope other people who purchase and read this thread will too. Nah, not an FX55, but one of those spanky nice overclocking 3500+ "new Newcastles".

Thanks for the pic!
