Default Setup foreign Bluetooth on iPaq

I've got some bluetooth SDIO cards I want to use on my iPaq rz1710.

Now SDIO is a standard interface so surely the cards should work on any platform. Problem is the driver setup is tailored to the brand of PDA the card was designed with.

I've got a new Palm Bluetooth SDIO card and you have to install the driver via the Palm desktop, I can't do that as I have a HP ipaq.... not compatible!

So how can I get just the basic Bluetooth SDIO card driver for the card and then install it on my iPaq?

I'm also trying the same thing with an older Toshiba Bluetooth SDIO card.

Any hints tips success stories?

I don't want to hear I'm foobarred.... although I kinda expect it.
