i love flat, high performing laptops that look stylish but is very portable at the same time
esp the X-40 for T series laptops. i absolutely love them i personally have an X-40, 25mm, 1.23 kg, 12.1 TFT, awesome machine...but was NOT AT ALL cheap btw, but is sooo....oh, i guess its a fetish, i also have a T-42p, thats a monster, 128mb ATI firegl gcard, 1gb ram, 60gb hhd, 14.1 TFT, dvd burner, wireless a/b/g and the usual ibm works. when i'm out with either of these laptops and just somehow see other ppl's, i wonder y they would buy big, thick ass laptop that...is well any other dudes love there ibm's? oh, i dont know if this is true or not, but APPARENTLY, an experiment was undertaken to c how mani drops would total a laptop. they were dropped @ the average table/desk height, and the companies included toshiba,ibm,dell,hp/compaq and nec. they only chose the leading market share companies. and according to their results, ibm had the most durable laptop of them all. toshiba just made products that didnt work (with their satelites) and dell, compaq/hp were in average performers. i realli do need to find the real source of what i heard, but...i believe it cheerssss

IBM produces great business-range equipment - they'll take an absolute beating. However the bells and whistles usually take another 6 months to come out on an IBM, and you still pay a premium price for them.
I've had a T40, an R51, and an X40. All fantastic pieces of gear. However for my purposes, I've settled on an HP nc6000. But the bottom line is each to his/her own.

I recently upgraded from a 14.1" T20 to a 14.1" T40p, i was a little disappointed that the T40 wasn't the same footprint as the T20 (its a little wider), but ah well, its still as slim as anything!
I'm really loving the software and support thats bundled with the laptops, Access Connections rocks! Also, I think IBM are the only ones left doing 3 year warranty as standard. True about being 6 months behind fR33z3, well thats definately true as far as the graphics cards go. Maybe they do extensive testing before they decide to include it into their laptops?

I'd describe them as the least sylish laptops on the market and they perform okay I guess if you're a business user, nothing worth writing home about that's for sure.

They are they high end models but if i ever have to buy a personal lappy i'll definitely be getting an IBM.
