Default How do you install drivers for a SDIO card.

My previous thread may have been too specific, so I'll make it general....

I have a PDA, I have an SDIO card.

How/where do I copy drivers on the PDA for them to recognise a new device.

You'll no doubt have to install them via ActiveSync, unless they provide a .cab file. If you can get a cab file you can then copy it to your PDA or a storage card and just click on it on the pda to install.

I think you will need the drivers from the card maker. So perhaps hit their website? They should have driver downloads.

ANy idea where I can get the .cab files for a PALM Bluetooth card then?

PALM only let you install things via palm desktop and I just want the bluetooth driver which is becoming a big pain in the ass.

Ahh a palm, different story then. I mistakely assumed it was a PocketPC.
You might be able to manually transfer the .prc file? Any palm gurus out there?

Now it clicks...

I doubt the PALM SDIO card will work on a PocketPC device. Why? I doubt very much they will supply drivers for it.

But... There's a chance you might be able to use it by using drivers for another bluetooth card.

eg. http://www.socketcom.com/support/sup...F%20and%20SDIO

This might work as Socket cards are often the ones that are rebranded.

Wont work, I bet you picked this card up cheaply on eBay? I sold a fair few of them, they only work for Palms surprisingly (if you read whats written on the packet)..

I created a new thread because I assumed my initial question was too specific as no one answered.

I posted the second thread and I got a response, so I beleive it was worth it.

I wasn't expecting this to be possible, hence a comment in my original post.

I can accept a PALM card might be designed specifically for a PALM PDA but I've been told its a standard SDIO card so I was hoping someone might have a driver or have tried to load a driver so a different brand PDA can read the SD card.

Funny thing I'm having the same problem with a toshiba bluetooth card which I'm told isn't specific to a toshiba PDA but again no one knows how to manually setup the drivers....

I guess no one knows anything that can help.

I do know a Palm SD card will not work, I bought half a dozen and tried one in my PDA and trawled through google but found they dont work. Sold them all on eBay for a nice profit.

Its a pain these companies making vedor specific SDIO cards.

SDIO is a standard and I feel they should work in any device with a SD card and the correct drivers.

Seeing the PALM card was given to me I'm accepting I'm not the first person to try this, especially if they are basically given away on EBAY too.

Try loading a Toshiba driver though.....
