Hi
I couldnt get a definate answer to this question in this thread so I'll try here. Im going to purchace a notebook using the INTEL® 855PM Chipset (Odem) ICH4-M chipset and just want to know what RAM to get with it. 333Mhz RAM comes as standard but will I get any advantage from getting 400Mhz RAM? Can this chipset make use of the extra speed? FYI Ill be running it with a 1.8Ghz Dothan Pentium-M. |

From Intel's web-site Support for up to 2 GB of DDR 333/266/200 memory technology Higher performance & flexibility . So 333MHZ it is unless you want to overclock |

400MHZ is the FSB on the processor if you search the specifications for the notebook you are after chances are it will say supports 333hmz ram. If you want to check what model notebook are you after?

O.K. that model looks like the 259IA which is made originally by Uniwill http://www.uniwill.com/products/perf...a.php?HL=1&P=1 ignore the screen resolution (the only model bought to australia doesn't have that resolution screen) and it says it DDR333. It will run DDR400 but not at that speed unless you overclock.

Well as said in other thread I work for Digital Star and we sell them also. Great machine especailly for the price point and we haven't had any major troubles with them.
But be aware that with a 6 Cell battery and a 256mb video card you won't get the battery life that you will out of some Centrino's 2.5 hours would be maximum battery time. |

Ah ok, you work at Digital Star. I got a quote off you guys. I must say I was very impressed with your service and professionalism. I almost went with you guys but in the end the dollar savings I could get else where was just too hard to turn down.
