Thinking about the Axin X50v, and buying 1gb or memory for it.
Which is better SD or CF memory ? Are either faster than the other ? Is either slot often used for other purposes ? Looking at Corsair site the sd seems slightly slower but uses less power. Are the speeds suggested realistic in an x50v ? I freely admit that I'm looking at Corsair because I use Corsair ram in my PC, and not because I've heard their flash memory is better. Any advice ? Thanks

In your case, SD may be the better choice. Why? Speeds should be about the same (limited by the Axin), and SDs are more compact and cost about the same.
Personally, I'd go with CF, but more so for ideological reasons. Transcend also manufactures excellent, reliable flash memory. i-store have their 1 GB CF card for AUD 118. Cheers, Jason |

I'ld have to go with silver6
if you look at the cost difference between an SD memory card, and CF memory card, there's not much difference, but if you look at other devices, there's a HUGE jump in price. So if i were you, i'ld go SD for memory, and leave the CF for other devices like GPS/BT/Wifi if they're not builtin. |

BTW, I have two Transcend cards, a 512 and a 256, both have worked flawlessly with my picky Canon G5 (no corruption, lost images, etc.) |
