Please don't take this personally, but the rules for Iron Photographer are very clearly spelled out in the forum sticky, and everyone should read that thread before posting in this forum (like every other forum that has a forum sticky). I would also have sent you a quick PM explaining why your entry had been deleted if your PM box hadn't been full.

I guess the other thing that others have already touched on is that everyone is encouraged to start a new thread if they have a photo (or photos) that they're happy with - asking for a critique, or some feedback/discussion/suggestions, etc. That's what this forum is all about, and I know I personally enjoying reading those kind of threads the most.

Anyway, welcome to the photography forum

Both are shots i can prob retake, though they took a fair while to get just right. Both are cropped sections from larger images.
Constructive criticism welcomed.

I like the first one. Top marks for thinking outside the square.

To add my 2c to the little dispute.

First of all, the shot currently entered is much better. It suits the theme better. Maybe because you took it specifically for the challange?

Second, say you enter a triathlon... you dont win if you run it the day before.. infact, thats not even counted as an entry. You run it when its being held. "But I competed last year, cant my time count in this years race?" - see how I've compared your logic to this absolutely illogical statement.

Third, If you think your hard done by, check out how anal some people (me, to be specific) are about the rules. A little earlier in this thread. The shot was taken within the month, but not with the competition in mind. Defeating the purpose of entering it.

Read the comments I made earlier in the thread and you will understand my point of view.

I strongly support your first entry being withdrawn as it did fall way outside of the rules and spirit of the challange. I also like your current entry a lot. It will likely be in my top 10.

I understand your cut, but maybe you should cut your loses and drop it before you make a dick of yourself. just a suggestion.

I Really like the first one.. A little more vivid colour couldn't go to waste.
Enter the second one, I still want a chance or the first one if you want to make my top 10.

I like the first shot better as well. The second shot seems a little bit more messy than the first

Default Can't decide

Went out in this inclement weather today to see if I could get a better shot for the challenge, I got these two which depict fluid in motion, they are both ducks playing in the water.

Some of these shots are great guys. I didn't realise there were so many people into photography.

I posted a thread in audio visual, but maybe I should post it in here? I'll ask in this thread, just a quick Q as to not de rail it but -- i'm after a web cam that will do 'count down timer' shots like your standard digi cam will. (ie; gives u 10secs to get into position if you place it on a stand)

Is there such a cam? Any help appreciated.. very appreciated.

Depends how you mean. I have a couple of logitech webcams (quickcam messenger and quickcam traveler) and the logitech stuff can do it within the software (i.e. need it hooked up to a pootah). The Quickcam traveler will take photos independantly of the computer, but doesn't have a timer function.
So, if you want something that will do it separate to a computer, no idea, but on a computer, logitechs definately do (with their software).
Could also consider the one of the XP PowerTools from Microsoft - TimerShot I think it's called. That lets you set up a delayed shot (or shots every x seconds, too).
Back to the threaded goodness now.
