I bought my first PC and finished building yesterday; just want to say thanks for taking the time to write what must be the most basic of basics down.
It's a great help to have clear and simple tips with pictures to refer to when doubtful... especially comforting to have a second option besides just product manuals! |

Hey, just a question - how long do you think a professional would take to build a computer?
It might save me hundreds if you answer. |

Ok, so today I lashed out and bought a gaming pc... It took all night to assemble and I turn it on and.... BLAH! No picture on my monitor... Which is weird because the gfx cards fans are spinning all the lights are on and everything seems pretty sweet.
I haven't done this for a long time so maybe I'm missing something obvious. Suggestions? Specs: UD3R i7 Core 920 GTX 285 750W antec truepower 6GB G.Skill 1600

On my old 8800GT it got all cranky if I plugged into the wrong DVI port.

This is gonna sound a bit stupid, but a wise man once said there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.. so here goes:
Basically, I'm getting the D14 cooler. I know I have to install the mounting bracket thing before I install the motherboard into the case, but do I install the cooler before as well? Will it get in the way of the motherboards (ga-x58a-ud3r) mounting screws?
