Hello all, first time poster, long time lurker wanting information on laptops.. but I have no experience with buying a laptop..
I was looking at this HP laptop, because my local store sells it ($2,199.. before haggaling..). Now, HP.. mm.. Their towers are sucky but I have no idea on their laptops, so any information? I was also looking around the Dell site, and made this.. Quote:
So, what are peoples past experiences with HP/Dell.. Or maybe some one has another brand/store/model number that would suit a person mainly going to use this computer for work and not the high end games.. Maybe poker on-line.. Last edited by Funness; 24th June 2005 at 9:06 PM. |

seems ok to me, if its going to be a work unit consider investing in another 512mb ram, it will make a world of difference. My experience with HP (i was selling computers for the last few years) is that they are fairly reliable only ever had a few that were duds, they look quite nice and support is good in aus.
for brand names (generally non-configurable specs) i rate the following: 1. toshiba / acer / IBM 2. hp (and compaq) 3. sony edit: just spotted the same/a bit better unit in HP for $2k

Edit: Getting 1gig of ran on Dell put the price up to AUD 2,391.40.. to much.. I might go HP because I doubt I will beable to order the dell tonight, so that price +500.. I dont know if I will go for 1gig ram on the HP, 512 should be fine.. as long as I dont hunk up photoshop with fonts like I did on my PC.. Last edited by Funness; 24th June 2005 at 9:48 PM. |
