Default Dell delivery?

My mum said that she got a call on wednesday saying that dell is going to deliver my laptop on saturday 25th, but i made a call today to confirm something about my order and my sales rep said that dell doesn't deliver on saturday and i should expect the computer sometime early next week. Which one is correct do you believe? Can i still get discounts after i get my computer?

I ordered speakers with my laptop but i called on monday and tried to get rid of this in my order, and i couldn't get in touch with the sales rep until friday, today, Again my rep said he will ask his manager what he can do about getting rid of this item and this is why i am asking if it will get deliever on sat or not.

Dell don't deliver, but the courier might.

As fair as i'm aware usually couriers don't deliver on the weekends, however i'd image that it could happen.

some couriers deliver on weekends, we sometimes arrange for them at work but avoid doing so as much as humanly possible

aren't they shipped from overseas?

Maybe they keep a small inventory of bog standard laptops, that they can ship off quick.

From memory (ie the last time I got any parts from Dell) they have a warehouse in Brisbane that holds all the current stuff before delivery and standard items that might be sold.

It's a strange system - my wife managed to get Dell (USA) to send her a new power cable after a sob story about the dog chewing on the last one.
No worries - they send one for free! Then we get a phone call from Brisbane, our cable has arrived, and we can have it as soon as we spring $80 for the courier. So she said "keep the cable" and I got my soldering iron out.

If they're anything like HP, they don't ship anything until they have a container full; even if retailers are waiting on stock. Keeps the costs down.
