Default need a low profile gaming card?

I'm the frustrated owner of an Antec Minute case, and altho its very pretty I have been stuck in the realm of very low end graphics solutions..

and to tell the truth its just about driven me up the wall trying to find a decent card.

well, if your like me and wish to game on your slimline machine, be it a Dell/HP etc or Antec minute i have some good news!!!

GameDude has Radeon9600XT in a Low Profile and it supports 3x displays!

I know many newer slim cases use riser cards and dont have the low profile problems that the minute has, but i thought i'd share the joy as this card is extreamly rare and no longer in production,

p/n = GC-R96XTLD-C3 or GEC-R96XTLD-C3

review of the card here:
http://61.129.49.138/Module/Show.aspx?ID=154
part number on the review is a typo according to kingmax (gecube distibuter)

GameDude has stock, but the pic on the site is a different card to the one listed (i checked with them prior to ordering that it was indeed low profile)

hope this helps someone out as its been a real headache for me since i got this case.

YaY for no more jaggies!

Thumbs up wow

wow i cant believe they have 9600xt in low profile. I have dell optiplex gx-240 and have been after a decent low profile card. I still dont think i can run this card though, as my power supply is only 160 watts. Its small enough only to run Radeon 9250, Geforce 4 mx and such.
Any idea how much power this card needs? wuts your power supply betzie?
anyway, thanks a lot for letting us know!

Aopen has a pci-e geforce 6600 coming out next month in Japan. It has a passive heatpipe cooler too.

I'd say about 20W at max load.

yeah that should be right,

i'm using the 225w that came with my minute.

i expierience some problems with this PSU if i load to much onto the usb (usually my hdd caddy)

however i'm on a;
P4 2.6C
Intel 865 mobo
120Gb SATA
DVD/Floppy
WiFi G card
HDTV card
Tt spark7
3x40mm fans

lots of stuff hanging out of thr USB ports (n52/cam/2.5" lappy drive)

nfi how much juice i'm using but if you currently have an AGP card you should be OK

btw it is all driving a dell 24" LCD and a Dell 15" LCD (both plugged into USB aswel, if that makes any difference to power use)

also;

handy to know you can get 24-Bit soundcards in a low profile see here;
http://www.audiotrak.net/

awsome just found the pci-e 6600! thanks Varuna

potentially, and depending on the motherboard power conector (some Dell/HP p4's dont have the extra power connector)

i'd give it a go if i were you. but the card isnt cheap at $249

remember tho that it is the only card this side of a parhelia or SLI that will drive 3 displays

$249 is way out of my budget. I'm thinking of getting a low profile radeon 9250 so i can play some brian lara cricket '05 and nfsu2. I'm having trouble locating one though, in sydney. The only one i have found is at Umart - they are charging 55 for the card + 4 for the LP bracket.
