I sent Dell customer support an email asking if there was an upgrade path planned for the X50v to enable Windows Mobile 5.0. No answer as yet.

Nor shall I be purchasing until I get a definite answer, also.

According to Dell @ aximsite.com

The Upgrade will be out in September. Dell USA is also offering free upgrade with X50v now.

i think i will get one too

anyone know where i can some nice screen protectors for the axim?

dell is offering some for $15 i think for 12. are they any good?

Dell rang me today and was told that at this stage There would not be a free update for the wm2005, So far Microsoft had issued the USA with the licences for it tobe given out free when released but the Aus one they still don't know.

No, they are totally cripes. I'd suggest buying from elsewhere, but I do not know what brands would be good.

i just placed my order for a x50v with a spare battery and a set of stylus.

$600 total

i have done a bit of research, and apparently the brando screen protectors are regarded as the best. i managed to get one from ebay for $20

for u guys who just bought dell axim x50/x50v .. make sure u guys be careful with the headphone jack.. the headphone jack are pretty easy to stuffed up.. there're heaps of x50 owners have experience problem with it(including me ).. and besure to check aximsite.com
