Just say you have an avg. Centrino unit with a 40Gb 4,200rpm drive.
If you replace it with a performance 7,200rpm laptop drive, what is the likely outcome of the higher thermal loading on the case fans? And is it a worthwhile upgrade? T.

I upgraded my 60GB 4200rpm with a 60gb 7200rpm
no problems at all with heat and noise. There is little bit more vibration, but nothing to worry about. Battery life is the same as before. |

Hi Tony, you could always install a 8MB Cache, 5400RPM Drive.
These are much faster and the newer ones, Seagate Momentus, etc. have thermal registers similar to a lot of 4200RPM Drives. Cheers Pedro :-) |
